KS1 and Y1 phonics results

Throughout the year, teachers do regular formal and informal assessments of the children in Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening, Maths and Science. Teachers use this assessment to give the children a level against the National Curriculum Attainment Levels.

By the end of Y1, children are expected to be working at a 1a or 2c. At the end of Y2, they should a 2b or 2a.

Where children are working above age expected levels, we give them tasks that will challenge them and where children are below where they need to be, we will provide some extra support within the classroom.
