Meet the Governors

Welcome from our Chair of Governors

I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself as the Chair of the Governing Body.  I have been on the Governing Body for just over two years.  My daughter recently left the Infant School and my son started in Reception in September 2017.   Given this background I am well invested in the success of the school.  From a personal stance I care hugely about every child's right to receive a good education, to enjoy the experience of learning new things and to be encouraged to reach their potential.

In my role as Chair of the Governing Body I am keen to develop the relationships between parents, teaching staff and the members of the Governing Body, as well as with the children, so that we are all working to the same vision, that is the success of our children and wider community.  We are very fortunate to have a good infant school in Sawtry and I am committed to making sure that the school maintains the high standard it sets itself and that when parents may have cause for concern they know who they can approach to discuss this and gain support.

The Governing Body has three clear responsibilities which are to work closely with the school's leadership team to:

  • Develop a clear vision and strategic direction for the school
  • Seek to ensure that the school provides high quality education for the children attending the school
  • Provide oversight of the financial performance of the school and seek to ensure that finances are well spent to provide the best outcomes for the children and the organisation.

I look forward to continuing to meet with parents, teaching staff and the children to better inform the work of the Governing Body and school.  If at any time you would like to contact me or any member of the Governing Body, please approach me in the playground, at events or leave a message for me with the school office.
