Our Vision Statement


Our Vision Statement was written after consulting parents, pupils, staff, Governors and the wider community.



Children will:

Be happy, confident, considerate, polite and well-behaved

Have respect for themselves and others

Be encouraged and be willing to do their best to reach their full potential

Be proud of all their achievements

Care for others and be a good friend

Enjoy coming to school and learning new things

Develop independence, resilience and a ‘have a go’ attitude


Staff will:

Enjoy and be enthusiastic about working with young children

Inspire and encourage children to do their best and be proud of their achievements

Care about the children they work with and have the time and patience for each child

Make lessons fun, purposeful and challenging

Develop good relationships with parents and be approachable and willing to listen

Be flexible in approaches to teaching and be open to new and different ways of learning

Be professional and work together for the best interests of the school

Have high expectations for children’s learning and behaviour

Keep children safe and encourage them to take responsibility for their own safety


Parents will:

Encourage and support their child to do their best and reach their full potential

Be confident to trust the school in caring for and educating their child

Support their child’s learning at home

Support the school to develop good manners, behaviour and independence skills

Have good two-way communication with the school and develop positive relationships with staff

Be actively involved in school life by reading and responding to information sent home, attending events and meetings and helping out wherever they can


Governors will:

Have a good knowledge of the school

Be recognisable, accessible and approachable

Work pro-actively as a body to recognise and celebrate the strengths of the school and help the school to improve and move forward

Monitor, challenge and support the school to achieve its goals

Ensure the school environment is safe for all


The Community will:

Be willing to support learning

Support fundraising events

Work in partnership with the school on joint areas of interests

Be welcomed into the school

Ensure Sawtry is a safe and happy place to live and learn
