Our Whole School Curriculum Intent

Our whole school curriculum intent is linked to our school values and sets out the core principles of our curriculum.

Loving: Our curriculum ensures that our children are taught the power of kindness and confidence in themselves.  We teach our children to take pride in their uniqueness.  Our children are taught the importance of not only tolerance but acceptance and respect towards others, regardless of background and lifestyle.  They leave our school understanding their roles in our society and their responsibility to behave as model citizens in modern Britain.

Inspirational: Our curriculum promotes resilience by prompting our children to overcome challenges and always try their best.  By providing a curriculum that provides awe and wonder we spark curiosity and aspirations for the future. We recognise and achievement in and out of school and we create opportunities to celebrate these.

Fun: Our curriculum gives our children the opportunity to live new experiences and try new things.  Their wellbeing and safety is at the centre of their school experience and we encourage our children to have a secure understanding of what keeps them mentally and physically healthy.  Through enquiring, reasoning, questioning and creating we support our children to build happy relationships across the community.

Educational: Our children have the opportunity to develop a rich vocabulary, developed over a progressive, broad and balanced curriculum.  Our curriculum is adapted to suit the needs of each individual child in our school to ensure that everyone can experience success.  It weaves learning experiences from the Early Years to Year 2, ensuring their prior learning is built on and their skills are developed throughout their infant school experience.
